How This Started
I'm Demetrius, the creator behind Zara Z.
This all started because my daughter was afraid to go to sleep.
She worried she might have a bad dream.
Night after night, we'd go through the same bedtime conversation. I'd reassure her, but the fear was still there.
So one night, I made up something called the Dream Door.
Before bed, we'd draw pictures of things she loved. Things she wanted to dream about. We'd fold the Dream Door, read the spell together, and imagine leaving worries on the other side.
Then I'd tell her a story.
Not a lesson.
Not a lecture.
Just a story.
A story about a girl named Zara.
A girl who met her worries in dreams and discovered they weren't always what they seemed.
The Dream Door helped us imagine better dreams. The stories helped us find words for big feelings.
Over time, Zara met more creatures, went on more adventures, and helped us talk about worries, mistakes, confidence, friendship, and courage.
What started as a simple bedtime ritual for one little girl eventually became Zara Z.
Now I'm sharing those stories in case they help your family too.
Everything you see here grew from those bedtime moments: a worried child, a handmade Dream Door, a bedtime spell, and stories told after the lights went out.
